The most important question when you want to cancel or get a refund is simple: has your LLC application already been submitted to the state? That one fact determines what's refundable. If you're just stuck on a required step — like choosing a registered agent or resolving a name conflict — you don't have to cancel at all: your saved application stays ready to pick up right where you left off for 30 days.
Before your application is submitted to the state, you get a full refund of everything you paid — the service fee, the state filing fee, and any add-ons — no exceptions. We move fast on filings: expedited orders are submitted the same business day, and standard orders are typically submitted within 1-4 business days (the timeframe shown at checkout), sometimes as soon as 1 business day (often just a few hours), so this pre-submission window is short by design, not something we hold open.
Once your application has been submitted to the state, the state filing fee is no longer refundable — it's already been paid to the state on your behalf — and our service fee is considered earned for the work of preparing and filing your application. The one exception: if you let us know within 24 hours of your purchase that it was made by accident, we'll refund 50% of the service fee, no escalation required.
Any add-on you haven't used yet is still refundable on its own, within 30 days of purchase, as long as it hasn't already been put to use: EIN service ($79) up until we've submitted your SS-4 to the IRS, an Operating Agreement ($40) up until it's been delivered to you, a certified copy ($50 plus the state's fee) up until it's been ordered from the state, and BOI reporting ($99) up until it's been filed. These prices are the same whether you add them at checkout or afterward.
If your filing is rejected by the state for something we can fix on our end, we'll fix it and re-file at no charge — we won't ask you first. If the rejection needs something only you can provide (like choosing a new business name because yours was taken) and you'd rather not continue, we'll refund the service fee, any unused add-ons, and whatever portion of the state fee the state itself returns to us. If your application was never actually submitted to the state, you get a full refund.
Registered Agent service is $192/year — that's $16/month, prepaid yearly to cover the next 12 months. It renews automatically, and we send reminder emails during the final three weeks before your renewal date — cancel any time before that renewal and you won't be charged. Once the service is active (either right after filing or after a renewal charge has gone through), canceling gets you a prorated refund for the unused part of your term, minus a $49 cancellation fee; you'll also need to file a Change of Registered Agent with the state yourself, at your own cost, to keep your LLC in good standing.
If you chose expedited filing and we do not submit an expedited order the same business day (or the next business day for orders placed outside business hours), just ask — we'll refund the difference between the expedited and standard processing fees.
We make refund decisions within 3 business days of your request, and approved refunds typically arrive back on your original payment method within 5-10 business days. You'll get an automatic confirmation email as soon as a refund is approved. Refund requests must be made within 6 months of the original charge.
