✅ Your payment is processed (you'll see a separate receipt by email).
✅ Your order shows in your member portal as "Submitted to FormationHub" — meaning we have everything we need to start work.
Within 1 business day
We begin processing your filing. For LLC formation: name availability check + Articles of Organization preparation.
If we need anything else from you, we'll email you. If everything's in order, you don't hear from us until the state responds.

Within 1-15 business days (depends on your state)
The Secretary of State processes your filing. Timing varies:
Same-day: Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri
1-5 days: most states
5-10 days: California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas
10-21 days: Arizona, Maine, Massachusetts, DC
You'll get an email the moment the state approves (or rejects).

Within the portal: - Dashboard — high-level view of all your businesses - Filings — track each filing's status - Documents — download Articles, EIN letters, OA, etc. as they're generated - Mailbox — scanned mail from your Registered Agent (if you bought that service) - Compliance Calendar — annual reports, BOI deadlines, RA renewals - Billing — invoices, payment methods, subscriptions - Account Settings — profile, password, 2FA, communication preferences
What to expect by email
We send: - ✅ Order confirmation (immediately after checkout) - ✅ Status updates when your filing moves through stages - ✅ The moment state approves or rejects - ✅ Document-ready notifications (Articles, EIN letter, OA, etc.) - ✅ Compliance reminders 60/30/7 days before deadlines - ✅ Annual renewal reminders for the Registered Agent service
We do NOT send: - ❌ Marketing offers from third parties - ❌ "Verify your EIN" or "Confirm your SSN" emails (we never ask for these via email) - ❌ Daily / weekly newsletters unless you've opted in
If you ever get an email that LOOKS like it's from us but feels off — check the sender's domain. We send from @formationhub.com only. If it's from @formation-hub.com or @formationhub.co or any other variant, it's a phishing attempt. See Identifying phishing emails.
Your first 7 days
A simple checklist for the week after signup:

[ ] Enable 2FA (Account Settings → Security)
[ ] Add your business name to your password manager
[ ] Verify your phone number (if not done at checkout)
[ ] Set communication preferences (email frequency, SMS opt-in)

If you bought EIN, OA, or BOI add-ons, those start processing automatically — no action needed from you.
Once your LLC is approved

Get your EIN (we handle this if you bought the add-on; otherwise you can apply free at irs.gov)
Open a business bank account (Mercury, Relay, Chase recommended)
Sign your Operating Agreement (if you bought it)
File your BOI report (federal requirement, deadline varies)
Set up bookkeeping (separate business + personal money from day 1)
